1.     What is Computer?

The word 'Computer' originated from Latin word 'Computare' it means to calculator or count. An electronic device which can accept data, process them and give the processed output as information to the user. It was developed by Charles Babbage in 1822 (difference) engine.

4.     Main three parts of computer.

                                                       I.            Input device

                                                    II.            CPU (Central processing unit)

                                                 III.            Output device

I.                   Input device: - An input device is any hardware device that sends data to the computer, without any input devices, a computer would only be a display device and not allow user to interact with it much like a TV. Some popular input devices are: Key board, mouse, scanner, microphone, digital camera, pen drive, CD ROM. An example of an input device.

II.                CPU (Central processing unit) :-CPU is alternatively referred to as the brain of the computer processer, central processer or the CPU (pronounced as C-P-U) was first developed at Intel with the help of Ted Hoff in the early 1970's and is short for central processing unit. The computer CPU is responsible for handing all instruction it receive from hardware software running on the computer. CPU has two panels.

A.   Show panel

B.   Back panel

A.   Show panel

®   Start button:- It helps to press start computer.

®   Re-Start button:- It helps to press automatic re-start computer.

®   USB port (universal serial bus):- it helps to connect all USB versions like USB pen drive, USB keyboard, mouse, data cable, printer etc.

®   Audio port:

a)     Pink color:- it helps to connect microphone.

b)    Blue color:- it helps to connect speaker.

B.   Back panel

®   SMPS port:-it helps to connect current power.

®   Ps/2 version

a)     Blue color:- it helps to connect key board.

b)    Green color:- it helps to connect mouse.

®   Communication port:- it helps to connect  internet CDMA.

®   VGA (video graphic adaptor):- it helps to connect monitor cable so that we can see display on screen.

®   USB …………………………

®   RJ/45 (Register jack):- it helps to connect LAN (local area network) trough the tower.

®   Audio port:

1.     Pink color:- it helps to connect microphone.

2.     Blue color:- it helps to connect speaker.

3.     Green color:- it helps to connect record data.

®   Printer:- it helps to connect printer cable so that we can print out document.

III.             Output device:- output device means display information and a screen creates printed copies, generates sound, monitor, printer and speaker are example of output device.
