Panchakanya pond seems to have developed a little now


Marin, This scene is from Marin Rural Municipality ward no. 5 is the historic Panchakanya pond located. The Panchakanya pond in the middle of the dense forest in Ghata village of the former Mahadevsthan VDC is considered to be the historical and archeological site of the region.



The Panchakanya pond on the banks of the river Marin, about 15 kilometers from the district headquarters Sindhulimadi, is considered to be a pure water body for thousands of years.

The water level has been the same for thousands of years and the view of the dense forest, wild animals and birds has increased the attraction of Panchakanya pond.


Currently, the Rural municipality has also managed the budget for the construction of various buildings and the conservation of the pond. At present, new temples have been built and there are also tents for the visitors from different places.


According to legend, the Panchakanya pond is believed to be the abode of five goddesses.
It has been believed that the bridegroom can be found by worshiping the goddess Panchakanya at the bottom of the Panchakanya pond.



Now, another new temple has been set up along with the old Panchakanya Devi temple near the pond, and for a few years now, the villagers have decided to make the Panchakanya pond a tourist destination.
